Your chance to work with a piece of history! Heritage wool is a merino blend from a lineage of sheep that have roamed free and not been selectively bred since they arrived in SA with the settlers.
The micron count (23) is higher than the average micron count in SA, however the fibre is more characterful. You will be surprised with the odd kemp or darker fibre.
Ideal for soft yet robust spinning, felting, and adding in to weaving, dyeing.
The fibre of this sheep is unfortunately no longer processed in SA, once sold out we will not be able to restock.
Carle says – if you are a serious crafter, do not miss out on the opportunity to experience this fibre.
